How to Strike

1. Talk to your neighbors, people who live in your building or people who have the same landlord. Often one landlord has many properties. Rent strike inherently carries a huge risk, especially in a city like Seattle where housing is so scarce. However, it is much more difficult for a landlord to single out anyone in particular if all of their tenants refuse to pay together.

If you don’t know who own you property you can look it up here : https://www.kingcounty.gov/services/gis/Maps/parcel-viewer.aspx

If you have a management company, a quick google search will often turn up the names of other properties they own.

2. Write a strike declaration and make it public.

3. Find other people doing the same thing and start to network how we will support each other.
